Birthday Card

I wanted some pretty Birthday cards so I used my Stampin Up - Best Blossoms stamp to make these. The words, "Happy Birthday" are a Marcella clear stamp.

scrapbook layout

I like to do a scrapbook challenge about every week. I made a layout of my Grandson and my Son and named it "Dad and Me". It was for a challenge on the Two Peas website. It is a use your stash challenge. You can find it here: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2613158

My user name on Two Peas is Jazzyrose. I used a Home decorating magazine form my color scheme which was part of the challenge. The journaling says, "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart walking around outside of your body." ~ Elizabeth Stone

Today has been a day of relaxation and creativity.

The airplane 4x4 was done just for fun today and the striped Thank you card is a pre-printed card that I wanted to jazz up a bit. The flowers are colored in with markers on a clear Autumn Leaves stamp. The stitches are a Clear Technique Tuesday stamp. The tag is Quikutz. The thanks was stamped from a larger wooden block stamp but did not show up dark enough so I went over it with a pen.

ATCs

I think men are much harder to draw than women. I was really drawn to this one because he looks so vintage. He makes me feel like he came out of the 1940s.

I really like this girl's warm looking coat and I enjoyed making her red hair look thick and curly like my Granddaughter's hair. Her earrings are Stickles glitter glue.

card

We are keeping my grandson for the weekend and now we have him walking. He's so cute! I hope I can get some good pictures to share a layout with you.

While he is taking naps, I'm working on some cards. (My way to relax)

I used the Cuttlebug flower/swirl (not sure of the correct name) embossing folder, CTMH Alfresco stamp, a $1.00 stamp on the "thinking of you, a souffle pen, ribbon and stickles.

ATCs

Here are some more ATC paint overs that I've been working on.

Mysterious turned out pink colored when I started to paint over her. These are always a surprise to me how they will turn out. I thought the pink overtones made her look kind of mysterious.

The pirate is from a Pottery Barn children's catalog. My Granddaughter loves pirates. I thought of her when I made this one.

I love this girl's smile. It just makes you want to smile too when you look at her.

ATCs

I love doing Artist Trading Cards and some of my favorite kinds of ATCs are paint overs. These are pictures that I find. I gesso over them, draw over them, paint them with water colors and then gel over them to seal them. Here are 5 of my latest ATC paint overs.

altered book

I finally decided to do a blog and today is my very first post to my blog.

I did a page in an altered book that is a part of a round robin we do in my altered book club. We are doing quotes in our altered books.

This quote says, "We can learn a lot from Trees: They're always grounded but never stop reaching heavenward." Everett Mamor
I was inspired by a layout in Creating Keepsakes magazine to do a tree and then I found a quote that I liked.
Then I found a picture of what looks like the roots of a tree to go with the part of the quote that says "grounded" and a birdhouse to go with the part that say "reaching heavenward" to go into the pockets.
Now I can share it with you on my blog.
