altered book page

The horses are an altered book page tip-in swap that I was in with my art group. The patterned paper was also a gift from a friend. It had snow and daffodils on it. How lucky for this layout! The large daffodil was drawn by hand and water colored. The captions for the horses are saying, "Jazz, Is this S.C.? And Jazz is saying; "I'm not going out there."
The journaling says:
"It was March 2, 2009. It seemed like
Spring was starting to arrive. The
daffodils were in bloom. Then we got
several days of hard rain. The next
thing you know the weatherman says it's
going to snow. No way, we thought and
we never believed that it would stick after
such hard rains! But it did snow 6" and
thundered and lightened while it snowed.
Barbara Rossman sent me this tip-in of
the horses and I'm sure that is the way they
felt about the weather at that point.
This picture shows the power lines right
before they snapped and they had to come
out and fix it. I sure am glad we have gas logs!"
Thanks for the wonderful tip-in Barbara!

This is my 4x4 for my altered book club. I was inspired to use something
with birds because all the birds are singing outside everytime I go out.
They are so glad it is Spring after
a long cold Winter.

Gem of a man - Think Monday - Think ATC

The theme at Think Monday - Think ATC is bearded men. I was very surprised to see that
different cultures consider a moustache
to be a beard.
This man has a great long beard. I also
think he looks like a gem of a man who
fixes things and pays the bills even though
he does smoke cigars.

Spring canvas wall hanging

This is the second canvas wall hanging that I've done.
After Easter is over, I plan to hang this one up and I can enjoy it for a long time.
The green and blue lace is part of a lace collar found piece and it's dyed with Ranger distress ink reinkers mixed with water and brushed onto the lace.
The flowers have beaded centers and there is lots of stitching that doesn't show up well in this photo.

Altered spoons

Our online altered art group did altered spoons for our new project. Here are my two spoon.

The scans don't show up well but the blue spoon

has a bluebird in the bowl and the flower and jewel in the bowl are from an old clipback earring.

The purple spoon had a dragonfly in the bowl and tiny beads

They both have Glossy Accents in the bowls and the shine was just too shiney for them to scan well.

Garfield - Think Monday - Think ATC

This is my ATC for Think Monday -
Think ATC. The challenge this week
was to do an ATC with a character
from a comic. I just love fat cats so
I did Garfield.

We had a blast! Thanks for teaching

Audrey Hepburn challenge - Think Monday - Think ATC

Ah, I finally am posting my ATC after having our power off nearly all day from the snow and ice breaking one of our power lines.

Audrey was such a lovely woman and she made everything she wore into a fashion statement.

Snow on Monday

Here is how much snow we got early on Monday Morning. It sure looks like Winter wonderland today. But we'll have to enjoy it quickly because it is predicted to be in the 40's today and tomorrow and in the 50's

snow

I would never have believed it after 3 days of pouring rain! We have snow in South Carolina! It's looking like a blizzard out there. We have a good bit more in less than an hour. This is taken from my front porch on Sunday afternoon.
