halloween banner

I made a version of the Halloween banner that was in Creating Keepsakes magazine for my old antique mantle. The magazine has the crow template on their website. I found the crow on top of the mantle at a dollar store. I think I need two more of those crows and some pumpkins on the mantle and maybe some black ribbon to go with my banner. What do you think?

This week I decided I’d join a group which is called "Think Monday – Think ATC. Their challenge for this week was homophones. Homophones are two words that sound alike, but have different meanings. I knew that I could do an ATC similar to the cabinet cards I had just done for my online art group. They have the quote, "If you want to be happy, be." By Leo Tolstoy on them. Then I stamped a Bee on the ATC.
The colors on the ATC are twinkling H2Os.
I love the comment from Faye. I will have to name this happy lady Bea so that this ATC will be a triple homonym!

trash altered book

Our local altered book club has challenged us to do an album made of trash. The front and back covers are cereal boxes and the pages are brown paper bags. The bindings are of braided trash bags. I cannot wait to start looking at some of the albums next month! I started page one today of mine and it is so much fun! It has made me look at trash in a whole new way.

Here is what I used in the first page:

Brown paper bag page inked with Fired Brick Ranger distress ink
Texture stamp – PSX Design clear stamp
Onion bag mesh
Waxed paper from Ritz cracker sleeve sewn on
with the string from a bale of hay
Die cut butterflies from pizza box
Buttons from my friend
Yellow page stamped with "How do I love thee…" – Stamp from Rubbernecker
Inked inside of envelope behind the butterfly
Butterfly is plastic from a milk carton, which is stamped with Staz-on and colored with Zig markers
Face stamp is from Lost Coast Designs
Plastic Milk topper with face stamped on newspaper

To Cheer card

This is a card that I made out of some stickers that my friend, Charlotte gave me. I cut the butterfly out of the sticker and popped it up and put it on a background which is a new stamp that I got at the local rubber stamp convention this weekend. Thank you, Charlotte for the beautiful stickers.

Fall tag

I created this Fall tag for our online art group's mingle. Our inspiration was a Fall rug. My inspiration was Tim Holtz's August project on his blog and a Fall tag that I saw at our local rubber stamp convention. This is the first time that I have tried using Tim Holtz's fragments which are the little clear squares.

another ATC

I'm still enjoying working with ATCs. Here is one that has a embossed Cuttlebug background.

ATCs

Today I was experimenting with ATCs. The flip flop one was really fun because the background is paper towels with twinkling h2Os dropped onto it. The Girl's night out and the flip flops are magazine pictures that have been painted over. The Delight has a digital print out for the couple and I colored the sea with H2Os and put a similar pattern paper behind it. The buttons are old treasures.
