Horse altered book tip-in mingle

These are 4 1/2 x 6" altered book tip-ins that my online art group is doing. The challenge was to do something with a horse with the person's theme worked into it also.
This one is for Diann and her theme was a
romantic theme with red, cream and browns.
The quote says, "A horse is the projection of
people's dreams about themselves - strong,
powerful, beautiful - and it has the capacity
of giving us escape from our mundane exhistance." ~ Pam Brown

This one is for Char and her theme is beauty.
The quote says, "A lovely horse is always an
experience... It is an emotional experience
of the kind that is spoiled by words."
~ Beryl Markham

This one is for Connie and her theme is History.

The quote says, "Look back at our struggle
for freedom, Trace our present day's strength to it's sources and you'll find that
man's pathway to glory is strewn with the bones of the horse." ~ Author Unknown
The stamp says,"proclaim liberty throughout the land.

This one is an extra one that I did for our swap hostess, Barbara as a thank you gift. Her theme is Dreams and fantasy and I think she also has a Halloween book.

This is also an extra one that I did for Dee who was physically unable to join our swap. She loves to laugh and has an altered book called Trumpery which means showey but useless and she also has a cowgirl altered book I think.
I hope they all love their pages. All the images were from my Printmaster program. Some are cut out images and some are water colored over.

Easter Bunny - Think Monday - Think ATC

This week week the challenge over on Think Monday - Think ATC was to show us something beginning with E.
I thought the Easter Bunny would be perfect!
The bunny is a magazine picture that is glued onto the card with gel and then I draw over them and paint over them with water colors. Then I seal them with gel.

Old Barn Roof - Think Monday - Think ATC

This is my entry for the Think Monday - Think ATC challenge. This image is from Scrapbook Factory Deluxe bonus graphics CD. I printed the image out on old newpaper patterned paper and the image was barely showing. Then I decided to draw over it and then water color over that.
I think old barns are the most interesting architecture around here. This is an old Gambrel roof barn which is what my old barn out in the back is. I love that the mountains are barely showing in the background as we are at the foothills of the mountains here and catch beautiful glimpes of them depending upon where we are at around here.

Red Lottery Challenge & Postage challenge - Think Monday - Think ATC

I have decided to combine two challenges in one. Our online art group has a challenge to
do something red for the lottery this month
and Think Monday - Think ATC has a challenge
this week to do an ATC having to do with mail, postage, fonts, letters, crayons or pens.
The pencils were stamped over patterned paper that looks like writing. The stamp is from Lost Coast. The girl is an inchie stamp from Inkadinkado that is hand watercolored. The chipboard button is Michael's $1.00 spot. The "Thinking of you" is also an inchie stamp from Inkadinkado that is distressed with red ink. And the real stamp was just removed from a letter.

Janis Joplin - Think Monday - Think ATC

Janis Joplin is my favorite Rock Star and Rock star is the theme over on Think Monday - Think ATC. I found this image of Janis online and then I altered her to a watercolor special effect on a photo editing program. Then I printed her out and hand watercolored her.

bingo valentine hangie dangie

This is the bingo card Valentine hangie dangie that I made for my online art group. I used a Vintage Bingo card from Tim Holtz's Distressable elements CD. I printed it out and attached it to a piece of matboard. I inked it with red distress ink. I wanted it to look like a vintage valentine with lots of hearts. The frame is grungeboard painted with crackle paint and then distress with lightning black Brillance ink which looks gold to me. A friend gave me some cupids and I pop dotted two to give it some depth. The white rub-0ns are from Quickutz and American Crafts Mini Marks. Some of the hearts are grungeboard that is inked with red distress ink and topped with red stickles and some are gems from Michaels from the $1.00 bin. The Cupid is from an image from here:http://www.pennywisearts.com/freebies.html
