Marilyn - Think Monday - Think ATC

This is my ATC for this week for Think Monday - Think ATC. Marilyn Monroe is the theme this week. The yellow background is from Tim Holtz's Distressables CD - Alaphas and numbers. I thought that it was very appropriate for Marilyn.

Thank you Shelly Rae

This is a long overdue thank you to Shelly Rae for the necklace I won from her one year blogversary. The necklace says, "Got Cute?"
Thank you, Shelly Rae.
I have worn it to my Altered Book club and got lots of comments and I know I'll enjoy wearing it and just seeing it hanging in my room for a long time! Here is Shelly Rae's blog if you want to see it:

A Really Good day for cards!

I get together with friends and we do crafts and cards almost weekly. Today I got 12 cards made! I made a picture of all of them on my table and I scanned a few of my favorites. Several are very similar. My friend Claudia let me borrow her Spellbinder & Cuttlebug dies and Cuttlebug embossing folders. My friend Charlotte let me borrow her Birthday stamps and she gave me the dragonfly brad. I had all the stamped and watercolored images in my card folder leftover from other card projects.

Friends Award

My friend, Autumn nominated me for this award. Here is Autumn's blog if you'd like to see it:
http://autumnsantics.blogspot.com/
Autumn is in my online art group, An Affair with Art - AAWA and she is local too so I get to get together with her and some other friends and create art. I am so blessed because Autumn is very talented. Thanks for this award, Autumn and I am certainly proud to be your friend!

When you get this award, you are supposed to right click onto it and save it so that you can upload onto your blog and nominate your own circle of 5 other friends. So here are my who my 5 awards are going to:

Barbara is also in my online art group. She is such a sweet and giving person. I always enjoy talking to her on the phone. I got to hear her crow talk to me the last time I talked to her. If you love Halloween, you'll love her blog! Check out this framed spider here

She has such talent and I'm so inspired by her!
Kate's blog - http://fromsaladostudio.blogspot.com/
Kate is also in my online art group. Kate does beautiful paper artwork but she also does glass art work. She has such a giving and generous heart! She sent me this glass button and bead that she made as a RAK to me. I treasure them and I'm daydreaming about what special thing I'm going to create with them.

I found Jean's blog throught the Think Monday - Think ATC website.
Jean always inspires me with her website. I always can't wait to see her header because she changes it from one fabulous picture to another! Her blog is always filled with creativity and an explosion of colors! I love her post, "An ode to Betty Crowe" here: http://bluebirdslivinginthemeadow.blogspot.com/2009/08/ode-to-betty-crow.html
I know my friend Barbara R above will love this artwork too!
I found Gayle's blog through the Think Monday - Think ATC website too.
I am absolutely astounded at the amount of beautiful artwork that she creates! She takes time to leave me some wonderful comments on my artwork which I always appreciate.
Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite drink and just take some time to relax and enjoy her blog!

Peace - Flower Power

This is my ATC for Think Monday - Think ATC's challenge this week which is Woodstock and flower power. I started thinking about the Woodstock era and about what I remember seeing and hearing. I heard some music that is still some of the best. I saw lots of pink and orange and crazy colors. I remember smiley faces and bell bottom jeans. The word "peace" is written in the bell bottom font on this ATC. What do you remember if you were there?

Updated - Friendship - Think Monday - Think ATC

This is my ATC for this week's challenge at Think Monday, Think ATC which is friendship. The background and flower were colored by alchol inks. The design was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Inking video here:
http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hb_SMMD1lQ
Jennifer has several videos on You Tube and you can do a search for "Thinking Inking" and find them. They are all great videos!
I did not have the rub-ons that she used and just stamped my flower stem and leaves and my background paper was a glossy white embossed paper. My flower was not felt. It is just a paper flower that was a different color before I inked it with the alcohol inks.
The quote says, "If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give." ~George MacDonald
