Puppy page

The puppy page is a layout that one of my students made in our SDU class. Melanie wanted to know how to get the same look that she saw in a magazine which is the second picture. We all brain stormed in class and tried to help her do the layout. She did a great job and I wanted to share her page with you.I am so proud of all of them and we've all had a great time with this series of classes. The last class in the series will be Friday night and I hope all my students will be as wonderful as these 4 girls have been.

Diva reminder board

This is a piece that I did for my art group's July Lottery. My art group is "An Affair with Art" better know as AAWA. The theme for this lottery was pink and orange. When you do a piece for the lottery, you post a picture on the group's site and at the end of the month someone wins all the art in that month's lottery. And this month there were some great things in there. I have my fingers crossed.

My piece was a dry erase board from Target that I altered with a girl that was on sale I picked up some years back because she was a New Year's doll from 2004! I just knew I could find a perfect use for her somehow. She is perfect because we also have a "Long Cool Drink" theme going on in the group for another fun swap the group is doing.

Folded Christmas book with pockets

My friend, Autumn taugh us this folded Christmas book with pockets the other day. It is a lot of work but it was such fun! The tags and pages that go into the book have backs and fronts.
Autumn and I and some other friends have been getting together and doing Christmas in July. She has more stuff that we've been doing if you want to see on her blog here:

This is a layout of my Grandson visiting a goat farm. The journaling says, Noah and his Mom & Dad visited his Mom's friend's goat farm in July, 2009. There were two new-born goats that Noah was introduced to. Noah & his Dad fed the goats peppermints. These are Boer goats and they are mostly raised for meat but Bonnie's goats are just pets.

The goat accent is clip art printed on the back of patterned paper and then cut out & flipped over to show the unprinted side.

In my Garden - Think Monday - Think ATC

This is a plant on my back porch that I've had for several years. The only name that I know it by is, "Widow's teardrops". It blooms in these beautiful purple flowers. I take it inside before cold weather hits. In the winter it dies back and there is no plant showing at all. I put it on the top of my freezer where the elderly lady who gave it to me told me to put it in the Winter and I don't water it at all. Then I start to water it in early spring and it comes back out.

Update: Thanks for your comment, Faye about what this flower might be. I think you are correct about what it is. I had tried to find out for years what this plant really was.

Doesn't it make you wonder why it went from Cupid's Bower to Widow's teardrops? Unfortunately, the lady has passed away that gave it to me and I cannot ask her.
