The theme at Think Monday - Think ATC is bearded men. I was very surprised to see thatdifferent cultures consider a moustache
to be a beard.
This man has a great long beard. I also
think he looks like a gem of a man who
fixes things and pays the bills even though
he does smoke cigars.

Great ATC! In Germany, we commonly use just one word for men's facial hair styles, which is "Bart", to which we then add "Schnurrbart" (moustache)if we want to be precise. So the German word refers to both beard and moustache, but I totally forgot that there are two different terms for it in English. Hope this explains the emergence of men with moustaches :)
