I think he'll like all the things to touch on this card. The black strip is embossed too although it didn't show up on the scan.
Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. ~Henry Ward Beecher

charms and glass slide
I got my charms and a glass slide back from a Valentine charm swap that I was in with my art group, AAWA. I love them all! Thanks to Shelly Rae for the heart charm with the beautiful packaging, Yooper for the pink bottle with heart, Jeri for the red charm with flowers inside, Diann for the pink flowered heart, Carol for the red heart charm, Candy for the lovely glass slide, and Jean for the oriental woman that has "joy" on the back. The last red heart charm was mine.

erosion bundle
I am doing an erosion bundle to hang until Spring. You can learn about erosion bundles here at this site: http://www.erosionbundles.blogspot.com/
An erosion bundle is art material for a future project that has been weathered.
I wanted some colorful stuff in my bundle to see how it will look when the weather has it's way with it.
I have put fabrics, papers, recycled things & all kinds of stuff in my bundle. It is in a brown paper bag and then that is in a mesh bag.
This is how my bundle looks hanging in a tree and I was sure to tell my DH about it so that he would know what it was.

1st bloom
Today is a day to celebrate. I have my first bloom on the amaryllis and my Christmas decorations are all down now and in the garage ready to put back up in the attic! Yipee!
Jean asked on comments if cats eat amaryllis and I did a little research and if they do it seems that it can cause nausua and vomiting so I guess it is better to keep this plant away from your kitties. I have 4 cats myself but I keep this plant up high and where the kitties cannot get to easily. I've never know them to bother one of these plants but better safe than sorry with your kitties.

Valentine banner 2010 - MMM
Thanks to my friend Charlotte for teaching us how to create this Valentine banner at our altered book club yesterday. I added three hearts to it yesterday to help it stretch all the way across my mantle. The red, white and black flowers were a present from my friend, Dorothy and I thought that they would look perfect on my banner.
My friend, Barbara has encouraged me to join the challenge this week at Mixed Media Monday so I am going to add my banner to their art there where their challenge for this week is something new.

January tag
This is a tag I made for my local altered book club and my online art group's monthly mingle.
The Christmas picture is a picture from a magazine and it was my design inspiration from my online art group. I used silver embossed clock faces for the silver in the picture and used the color blue (even though my tag colors included lots of yellow ink too) and ribbon on my tag is inspied by the ribbon on the gift. I wanted to use a New Year's theme for my local altered book club since this is our January tag. The quote says, "Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right." Opray Winfrey

Be My Grungy Valentine
This is a hangie that I made for my art group - AAWA's monthly lottery.
I used my UHU twist and glue which was a freebie that was sent to me. I really like it! It does a little glue but you can twist it up and it makes a bigger surface to glue with. I will definately be a fan of this glue from now on! Thank you UHU!
Now UHU is my favorite glue stick and my favorite clear liquid glue.
